Hatha Yoga

Our style of Yoga is called, Hatha Yoga.  All levels are welcome.  We meet twice a week indoors in the beautiful facilities of the Indian Shores Town Hall.  For our schedule at this indoor location click here. Hatha Yoga refers to a set of physical exercises (known as asanas or postures), and sequences of asanas, designed to align your skin, muscles and bones. The postures are also designed to open the many channels of the body—especially the main channel, the spine—so that energy can flow freely.

Hatha is also translated as ha meaning “sun” and tha meaning “moon.” This refers to the balance of masculine aspects—active, hot, sun—and feminine aspects—receptive, cool, moon—within all of us. Hatha yoga is a path toward creating balance and uniting opposites. In our physical bodies we develop a balance of strength and flexibility. We also learn to balance our effort and surrender in each pose.

Hatha yoga is a powerful tool for self-transformation. It asks us to bring our attention to our breath, which helps us to still the fluctuations of the mind and be more present in the unfolding of each moment. We look forward to meeting you at Yoga on the Beach!

If you live or vacation anywhere near Indian Rocks or Indian Shores, treat yourself to Yoga on the Beach with Tania. The sounds of the surf, warm sun, call of the sea birds, all add to the unique experience of these classes. Tania is a yoga teacher par excellent. She is in tune with the abilities of each member of the class, offers suggestions and tweaks to make the poses work the best for each of us. She is a special person/teacher and feel blessed to be part of her classes. One evening/week and on the odd day when Tania is not available, Shelby is our instructor. She too offers a special experience which makes you so content, peaceful, and grateful to have been part of her class. Treat yourself. This could well be the best part of your time here. 🙏

Tania is professional, spiritual, and friendly teacher. In combination with the beach is perfect for a little challenging, relaxing, stretching, and meditation lesson. Everybody were very friendly. The class is perfect for every level. Thank you Tiana for great lesson.

Tania's classes offer consistent patterns of variations, contributed by her intuitive insight and instructional guidance of preparedness for any given pose. There is a sense of dedication in her manner and presentation of the practice. Tania has a way of providing just the right amount of intensity for every skill level, along with her graceful style and energy. An air of calming serenity permeates the atmosphere as we are lulled esthetically by the charm of her British accent. The combinational benefits of her classes create a unified sense of relaxation, harmony and tension release. I always leave feeling rejuvenated and uplifted, and throughout the day the echoing choir of my cells joyfully sing their thankful praise:)
